was the third County to be founded in
the State of Michigan. Named in honor of General
Alexander Macomb from the War of 1812, Macomb
County currently ranks third in population out
of Michigan’s 83 counties and encompasses 482
square miles. Banked on its east boundary by
Lake St. Clair, a major link in the Great Lakes
system, Macomb County is one of the fastest
growing counties in the nation. Residential

average for over five consecutive years. Macomb
County is ranked third in State Equalized Values
of all Michigan counties. Manufacturing is the
